Trudy is a 12 1/2 pound miniature Schnauzer which took on an Appalachian Trail thru-hike with her owners, Maud Dillingham and Cesar Becerra, in 2001 and 2002. Their project, "Peaks for Progress", is to raise awareness of diabetes. Maud and Trudy were kind enough to send us a running journal of their travels south from Maine. They finished the thru-hike on July 27, 2002. Trudy died when she was struck by an automobile in 2003.
