Trail journals are neat things. Not only can they provide some great escapist reading, but they also can lend insight  into how to travel with your dog. Over the years the Traildog Headquarters has collected a few for your reading pleasure.

  • "Trudy the Trail Terrier" - Maud Dillingham, Cesar Becerra & "Trudy the Trail Terrier," a 12 1/2 lb Miniature Schnauzer finished the Appalachian Trail. You can read Trudy's story
  • Rachel (trail name "Solophile") DuBois and mixed breed "Micah" did their hike in 1997
  • Ben Nadler & his Labrador, "Moe", are making their way up the Pacific Crest Trail
  • Brian Simon and "Heidi" completed the Appalachian Trail. Read their log or his thoughts on hiking the AT with a dog
  • Ironically, Jake (aka Jacob Morrill), the guy who asked Brian Simon the question about his thought on hiking the AT, went on to thru-hike the AT with his dog, "Mable" ,himself
  • Steve Bremner & his Traildog, "Sam", have done with a great job on their site about Colorado's peaks that exceed 14,000 feet in elevation. Steve has included a list of the peaks that each of them have done, and added a narrative and photos about how they did it
  • Paul Richins, Jr. and his American Eskimo Dog, "Prince", discuss a winter circumnavigation of Mount Whitney, the highest point in the lower 48.
