Jim Greenway is a NASAR-certified instructor for the Introduction to Search And Rescue (ISAR) and Fundamentals of Search And Rescue (FUNSAR) courses. He is also a NASAR evaluator for the SARTECH II and SARTECH III NASAR examinations.

Jim's background includes completion of the FUNSAR, Advanced Search And Rescue (ADSAR)Managing the Lost Person Incident (MLPI) and Planning Section Chief for Search and Rescue (PSC) courses Jim attended the US Air Force Inland Search and Rescue Coordinator Course taught by the US Air Force Rescue Coodination Center. He also participated in the FUNSAR Instructor Workshop & and SARTECH II Evaluator Workshop. He has attended the Rescue Specialist course several times through the Georgia Office of Homeland Security- Georgia Emergency Management Agency

His credentials include certifications as a SARTECH II as well as a First Responder through the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).  

Jim is currently a volunteer with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Mountain Search and Rescue Team. He has been involved with SAR for 14 years. He has participated as an assistant EMA director for a metro Atlanta county as well as through several other SAR organizations. He has been a police officer/canine handler. Jim was also a volunteer firefighter/first responder for seven years. 

Jim has taught search and rescue and emergency preparedness courses for seven years. His instructional skills have been honed by seven years of teaching for a major federal agency. His instructional training includes coursework at the University of Georgia as well as Kennesaw State College. 

His search and rescue skill interests are search theory, operational management and tracking. 

Jim holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia.
